As many of the other reviews have stated, these are heavy shoes. I ordered in a 4E, which compounds the weight issue. Having said that, these are great shoes. I wear AFOs, and the double insoles and extra wide width accommodate them with no issue. I am a younger person and am doing everything in my power to avoid the "old lady" New Balance walking shoes, which are some of the only shoes that can take my wide AFOs, still leaving room for my toes. These Drew shoes give me a bit more style while still allowing my toes and AFOs to fit. These give me a pair of shoes I can wear all winter, keeping my feet warmer than my New Balance running shoes, of which there is only one model which will fit the AFOs. It sucks to be young and vain and need granny shoes. I don 't spend a lot of time walking, so I can't say how the weight would affect that, nor can I speak to the arch support. If you are looking for something kind of cute and super wide, these are the shoes for you.i have worn this shoe for a year and one half and they have been great for my othotics and AFO Noodle brace, looking at buying moreI ordered these because they appeared roomy enough to handle my orthotics, but unfortunately they were so large and deep that my feet moved around too much and rubbed against my orthotics. Unfortunately I had to return them.I like the way they look with my jeans. The shoes were nice, but they just didn't fit my foot correctly. I have a bone deformity which was rubbed on the side by the shoe.Shoes were too heavy for my frail wife. We returned the shoes for this reason. Otherwise, an excellent pair of shoes.Sturdy, roomy, comfortable, and best suited for cooler weather.
