I have very weak ankles and flat feet, so finding comfortable shoes is a real chore. I have found FANTASTIC walking shoes with New Balance 928s, but they're not very appropriate for work because they're a bright white sneaker. I needed to find comfortable shoes for the office. The NBs come in black, but they're still sneakers, so I continued my search.I found these after some extensive Google searches. They're supposed to be for people with foot problems, have lots of cushioning, are adjustable, and specifically made to use with inserts. Unfortunately, they're not working for me. This is the second day wearing them to work, and I've decided to return them. The flap on top has velcro on both sides to make the fit "adjustable". Unfortunately, this means that I cannot get a snug fit whatever I do. I have to try to hold one side of the shoe in and quickly fasten the velcro before I gain too much slack. It never works, and the shoes are always loose even though I don't have the velcro as snug as it will go. Perhaps a better design feature would be to add an elastic insert to the flap so that you could actually stretch it and velcro to get a more snug fit. This loose fit leads to my foot sliding around on the inside. My inserts actually slide around too. These shoes have actually caused me MORE foot pain. I assure you that I did not get too large of a size. Like I said previously, there is still uncovered velcro. If I could just pull the flap further, then I could cover all the velcro on the shoe, and make a tighter fit. However, I can't pull the flap over any further because there is no give to it. If I got a smaller sized shoe, I probably wouldn't be able to close the top flap.
